Humans As Animals and LAMA are delighted to drop their brand new singles and are celebrating with a double single launch on May 22 at 24 Moons. 'Bilack' is one of Humans as Animals favourite creations, a monster with incessant urges. Known for their bombastic live shows, Humans as Animals are a house with many little rooms, presenting a patchwork scene of dramatic, visceral and blackly absurd observations in song.
Cheeky and nostalgic, 'Eat!' is LAMA's debut release and offers insightful window into the finer aspects of relationships. A vivacious and colourful eight piece outfit who blend psychedelia with bright funk, a sprinkle of glam coating added, LAMA's quirky horn section packs a whimsical absurdity as well as a punch.
Opening the night will be Dear Plastic, part avant pop, part trip hop. Homemade textured beats and lush, dark soundscapes, with 'baroque' vocals that are world-wary and velvet one moment, shimmering and playful the next. To bring the house down and very nearly collapse the building at 1am will be The Cactus Channel, the ten-piece you trust, delivering "Tightly raw soul, rambling deep-funk jams and organ-driven party mash-ups” as described accurately by The Age.
